Overview:

Powered by AMD’s powerful Ryzen™ processor, the TS-977XU-RP delivers high system performance with up to 6 cores/12 threads and Turbo Core up to 3.9 GHz. The TS-977XU-RP features a hybrid structure with four 3.5-inch HDD and five 2.5-inch SSD drive bays, allowing for enabling SSD caching and Qtier™ auto-tiering technology to greatly boost IOPS to meet the performance requirements of demanding applications. The TS-977XU-RP features two SFP+ 10GbE ports and two Gigabit ports for high-speed connectivity, providing businesses and organizations with an ideal solution for quickly deploying a high-bandwidth, high-reliability storage environment. The TS-977XU-RP also features a redundant power supply to ensure maximum system uptime.

Dual-channel Memory to deliver power-smart performance

The TS-977XU-RP supports dual-channel DDR4 memory and features four Long-DIMM slots. When using paired memory modules, the TS-977XU-RP leverages the power of dual-channel architecture to boost performance. You can also customize the memory configuration (supports up to 64GB RAM) of the TS-977XU-RP, making it the most ideal and cost-efficient storage solution for environments like virtualization that contain dynamically-changing workloads.

Extend NAS functionality with PCIe slots

The TS-977XU-RP features a PCIe slot that allows for installing a 10GbE/40GbE network card, a QM2 M.2 SSD/10GbE PCIe card, or a wireless network card to provide greater application potential.

10GbE/ 40GbE adapters

Supports lightning-fast throughput for bandwidth-demanding tasks such as virtualization and fast backup/restoration for an ever-growing amount of data.

QM2 card with M.2 SSD/10GbE support

Add M.2 SSD caching or 10GbE (10GBASE-T) connectivity to the NAS to enjoy optimal performance.

Wireless network cards

Use with the WirelessAP Station app to transform the NAS into a convenient wireless base station, allowing network resources of the NAS to be shared with multiple devices.

Install a graphics card for GPU-accelerated computing

Graphics cards are optimized for graphical calculations and transformations, but require significantly more power than other hardware. The TS-977XU-RP provides a 300 watt power supply and a PCIe slot that supports low-profile AMD Radeon™ or NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics cards that do not require additional power. Installing a graphics card can boost performance of applications such as video editing, 4K video transcoding, imaging processing in QTS and the performance of virtual machines via GPU passthrough.

Optimized performance for VMware Virtualization with iSER

With the built-in dual 10GbE ports that natively features Mellanox® ConnectX-4, the TS-977XU-RP supports the iSCSI Extensions for RDMA (iSER) protocol to boost data transfer performance of the TS-977XU-RP as VMware® ESXi storage and to reduce the CPU load of the ESXi server. iSER can provide a significant increase in performance, providing an essential tool to optimize demanding virtualization applications.

Features:

Install up to five SSDs in the 2.5-inch drive bays to enable SSD caching and Qtier for optimal system performance.

Two 10GbE SFP+ ports provide higher bandwidth to empower applications like virtualization, 4K video editing and file sharing.

PCIe expandability allows for installing QM2 expansion card, USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps) cards, or wireless network cards.

Snapshots add an extra layer of protection for disaster recovery plans. You can set a custom snapshot schedule and can use snapshots to recover data from a local or remote NAS.

Scalable storage supporting virtualization, containerized apps, centralized storage, backup, sharing, and disaster recovery.

Besides using QNAP storage expansion enclosures, you can also leverage QNAP VJBOD technology to use the unused storage space from other NAS.
