The QTS hero NAS TS-h1283XU-RP is powered by an Intel® Xeon® E processor with up to 128 GB DDR4 Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory to deliver server-grade performance with dependable reliability. Running the brand new QTS hero operating system that incorporates ZFS, the TS-h1283XU-RP supports near-limitless snapshots, SnapSync, block-level inline data deduplication, and inline data compression. The TS-h1283XU-RP helps your business achieve reliable service-level agreement performance, whether in a mission-critical file server, virtualization server, VDI, collaborative video editing, or efficient file backup and recovery applications.

Tiered storage configuration for a QTS hero NAS
Follow these steps to acquire optimal storage efficiency and performance for QTS hero.
Step 1:System Drive
The first Storage Pool you create will be the system drive. Create an SSD RAID with at least two SSDs for the system drive. You must allocate at least two SSDs for create the RAID.
Step 2:Read/Write Cache
Use more SSDs for a read/write cache. You can also install QM2 expansion cards to add M.2 SSDs for expanding cache space.
Step 3:Data Storage
Allocate HDDs/SSDs to create a RAID for storing files and application data. If needed, you can configure an all-flash configuration for optimal performance.
File transfer performance
Compared to QNAP’s QTS operating system, the latest QTS hero operating system delivers better data transmission performance and capacity of realizing the full potential of 10GbE data transmission. QTS hero also outperforms QTS in multiple small file transfers.

VJBOD Cloud Block-based Cloud Gateway
Supports mounting object cloud storage as a block-based volume or LUN on a NAS. Block-based data transmission uploads random data and large files to the cloud in blocks, and only block-based volume or LUN changes, such as addition, modification, or deletion will be transmitted. This is ideal for enterprise-level applications with large file transfer requirements, such as databases, VM volumes, and videos.
