The compact and feature-rich TS-451DeU combines an Intel® Celeron® dual-cord 2.0 GHz processor and 2.5GbE connectivity in one chassis, providing businesses with a modern 2.5GbE NAS solution to tackle everyday tasks like file backup/restore, and to boost team collaboration with higher productivity. The space-efficient short depth design makes it easy to install in small media cabinets or places with a lot of cabling. Supporting abundant business and media applications (including file sharing and sync, snapshot protection, virtual machines, cloud storage gateways, video streaming and real-time transcoding) alongside expandable storage capacity and install-on-demand apps, the TS-451DeU is an ideal cost-effective entry-level rackmount NAS.

Smaller footprint for bigger opportunities
Compared to a traditional 4-bay rackmount NAS, the compact TS-451DeU has a depth of only 11.57 inches (295 mm). This makes the TS-451DeU an excellent choice for smaller racks, and the unused space can be reserved for cabling or ventilation. The TS-451DeU is space-saving for flexible deployment and is especially suitable for multiple locations and applications including offices, audiovisual rooms, and security surveillance recording.
Note: Users can purchase the optional RAIL-B02 rail kit to deploy the TS-451DeU in a 19-inch rack following the ANSI/EIA-RS-310-D standard.
Dual-core 2.0 GHz (bursts up to 2.9 GHz) with AES-NI encryption acceleration
The TS-451DeU supports SATA 6 Gb/s drives and features a power-efficient Intel® Celeron® J4025 dual-core 2.0 GHz processor (bursts up to 2.9 GHz). There are two DDR4 SODIMM memory slots with 2 GB DDR4 memory as standard, but can be upgraded up to 8 GB. With Intel® AES-NI encryption engine, the TS-451DeU provides unmatched encryption performance with AES-256 bit encryption acceleration, boosting system performance while ensuring the safety of sensitive business data stored in the NAS.
Follow the Wi-Fi 6 trends and upgrade to a 2.5GbE NAS
The new-gen Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) trend has driven higher bandwidth demands for wired and wireless network connections. The TS-451DeU comes with two 2.5GbE RJ45 LAN ports that allow you to use existing CAT5e cables to upgrade network speeds from 1 Gigabit to 2.5 Gigabit. The dual 2.5GbE ports also support Port Trunking for up to 5 Gbps transmission speeds!

A secure file center supporting regular backups and snapshot protection
The TS-451DeU provides a reliable, flexible backup and disaster recovery solution to simplify routine backup jobs cost-efficiently and with high productivity.
Windows® and Mac® backup
Use the license-free QNAP NetBak Replicator utility to back up and restore files from Windows® computers. Apple’s Time Machine® is supported for backing up Mac® computers.
Snapshots for Volume & LUN
Block-level snapshots are dependable data protection methods, especially in the face of growing encrypted virus threats. The TS-451DeU supports up to 32 snapshots per volume/LUN, and up to 64 snapshots per NAS. (Upgrading the TS-451DeU to over 4 GB RAM will enable the support for more snapshots versions).
VM backup
The TS-451DeU is perfect for backing up virtual machines, with its high performance, huge storage capacities, integrated virtualization solutions, and snapshot support that records system status any time.
Increased HBS backup efficiency with 2.5GbE connectivity and deduplication
Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS) consolidates backup, restoration and synchronization functions (using RTRR, Rsync, FTP, CIFS/SMB) for easily transferring data in the TS-451DeU to local, remote and cloud storage spaces (including Microsoft One Drive®, Google Drive™, Dropbox®, and more) as a comprehensive data storage and disaster recovery plan. Supporting QuDedup technology that removes duplicate data at the source, HBS reduces backup data size and speeds up future backup tasks. This is also beneficial for accelerating multi-version backups for greater protection against data loss.
A multimedia server for video streaming and transcoding
The short depth TS-451DeU can be easily placed in a media cabinet. By installing Plex® Media Server from QTS App Center, you can stream media files stored on the TS-451DeU to mobiles and media streaming devices (including DLNA®, Roku®, Amazon Fire TV® and Google Chromecast™). The TS-451DeU also features advanced Intel® UHD Graphics 600 that supports hardware decoding and real-time transcoding, allowing you to convert videos to universal file formats that can be smoothly played on multiple devices. To have greater multimedia enjoyment, Cinema28 empowers your TS-451DeU with multi-zone multimedia management to stream media files to every connected device in different rooms.
Note: PlexPass is required for Plex Media Server hardware transcoding. The TS-451DeU’s hardware provides hardware decoding, encoding and transcoding capabilities. However, playback quality may vary due to factors including playback software, file formats, system usage, and available bandwidth.
Optimized collaboration with seamless file sharing and sync
The TS-451DeU centrally stores data and files, and supports SMB/CIFS, AFP and NFS protocols for file sharing across Windows®, Mac®, and Linux®/UNIX® networks. Coupled with the Qsync utility, any file uploaded to the TS-451DeU will be made available for all linked devices (such as computers, laptops and mobiles). You can sync shared folders and team folders for group file sharing to enhance the flexibility of team projects and collaboration. With the myQNAPcloud service, you can easily and securely connect to the TS-451DeU via the Internet for accessing, managing, and sharing NAS files. The Windows AD® and LDAP services enable system administrators to configure user permissions by using an existing Windows AD® server, LDAP server, or the TS-451DeU’s built-in LDAP service.

Regardless of your virtualization needs, you can count on Virtualization Station and Container Station for complete virtualization support. You can use Network & Virtual Switch to allocate adequate physical network resources to virtual machines, containers, and the NAS to simplify network deployment.
